This is a great practice for those new to yoga and pranayama. Breathing diaphragmatically is a functional way to breathe - which means that it is ideally how we breathe all day long to support our health.
Breathing this way is also helpful in calming the nervous system and easing stress and anxiety.
This practice is all about softening and reducing the intensity of our breath. It slows down our respiratory rate - which has an impact on how stressed and anxious we feel.
