About Me and Kitty's Yoga Spot
I'm Kitty Reddington, creator of Kitty's Yoga Spot. I'm a 1500hr+ certified yoga teacher (I love studying yoga) and Yoga Therapist.
Having lived with anxiety for most of my life, I have found yoga and the other practices I teach to be helpful at both a physical and mental level. Yoga provides practical tools, which can be easily integrated into anyone's life.
Originally from New Jersey, I spent my early twenties working in New York City, before moving to Sydney.
In my twenties, everything felt like a struggle, I would find myself in negative situation after negative situation. My self-worth was non-existent and this showed in the way I treated myself and how I let others treat me. Despite the experiences I was having, I stayed on course, I knew there was something out there for me and so I kept coming back to my intuition and following my own insight . . . even when it felt extravagant, like moving back and forth to Sydney . . . three times!
Growing up I felt most useful and at peace when I was helping others. I saw a lot of pain and suffering throughout my childhood and teen years. This led me to get two different master's, one in Peace and Conflict Studies and the other in International Public Health. In addition to studying, I've spent the past ten years working for not-for-profits in both NYC and Sydney, all in hopes of finding a career to fulfill me and help me achieve my life's purpose, or as we call it in yoga, my dharma.
When I discovered yoga in 2014, I knew very quickly that I had found a real way to connect with people and be of service. As I watched the benefits of the practice unfold in my life, I became convinced that this was something I had to share with as many people as possible.

Enter, Kitty's Yoga Spot, a spot in Sydney Park where I started practicing teaching yoga, even before I was fully certified, to some of my more patient friends. The name wasn't fancy, but it was the spot in the park where we had dropped the google pin. And thus was born 'Kitty's Yoga Spot' the spot on the map that can move wherever I go.

I officially became a 300hr Jivamukti Yoga teacher in February 2017 and went on to do a 500hr apprenticeship with my mentor Karolina Szymala. The apprenticeship was one of the most fulfilling and rewarding experiences of my life, topping both of my MA's, without a doubt.

In November of 2019, I started studying Yoga Therapy and have found working one-on-one with people to be extremely rewarding. I learn so much from the clients I work with and I am very grateful for their willingness to share and invite me on their journey to better health.
My goal in all the work I undertake now is to inspire people to live a more whole and conscious life.

I hope we have the opportunity to meet, if we haven't already, and explore what yoga can add to your life.
